Our steelbacks have a three layer construction that includes woodgrain steelback with safe, stable, rigid polystyrene insulation. Rigid polystyrene is not going to bubble, delaminate or become brittle like some of the higher R-value polyurethane doors being offered by other companies. We only use rock solid polystyrene which is tried and time tested. Our American Garage Door Factory process of special density foam and two layers of steel with our pressure-max bonding say it all. Our steelbacks offer rock solid performance because we only use solid sheets of foam unlike other companies that use multiple pieces to insulate. Our steelback is a stronger, energy efficient and a more quiet model.
Our standard 2″ thick non-insulated pan door has a unique raised shadowline that makes it stronger and stops oil canning, which are waves and dips that make garage doors pop. We give you extra strength for free! We make sure your door is both strong and quiet by using our own Formula 124 steel, which is thicker and heavier than the 25 GA or 26 GA models from other companies. We use thicker, heavier end and center brace stiles to give better support. Our end stiles are glued and screwed together, which makes them quieter and stronger than others. We use a 1 Mil thick baked polyester paint coating on the inside and outside to protect against the weather. The construction is made of hot-dipped galvanised steel, and the bottom weather seal retainer is rustproof and has a seal that can be replaced.
